My Crafting Journey

My love for crafting started when I was nine years old in my mother’s craft room in Seattle, Washington. I still remember the excitement of transforming simple materials into something beautiful – painted rocks that became garden decorations, paper flowers for family celebrations, and homemade greeting cards that made people smile.



After graduating from Roosevelt High School in Seattle in 2010, I explored my creative interests through art classes at the Seattle Art Studio and various crafting workshops at local community centers. I have hands-on experience with diverse crafting methods developed through years of experimenting with different materials, techniques, and project types. Between 2012 and 2016, I spent time teaching craft workshops at Green Lake Community Center and volunteering with children’s art programs at Seattle Public Libraries, where I discovered my passion for making crafting accessible and fun for everyone.

Through these experiences, I realized that the best crafts don’t require expensive supplies or advanced skills. That’s when I discovered my true calling: sharing creative project ideas that anyone can try at home with basic materials.

Why I Started Crafts By Anna

In April 2021, I decided to start this site as a way to share craft inspiration with creative people like you. When I refer to “Crafts By Anna” or use “we” anywhere on this site, I’m talking about the brand — all content is created and curated by me personally.

My mission is simple: to prove that you don’t need to be a professional artist to create amazing crafts at home.

Every project idea you’ll find here has been carefully selected and researched. I believe in:

I live in Seattle, Washington with my husband Mark and our two children, Emma (age 10) and Lucas (age 7). My family helps me test which craft projects really work and which ones need improvement. If a project makes it to this site, it’s been tried and personally approved by all of us.
